Le Paradis du Safran

The colorful blossoms that grace these serene gardens every year fetch up to $10,000 per pound.

About

Run by a lovely Swiss expat, Le Paradis du Safran (Saffron Paradise) is an organic saffron farm tucked away in the Ourika valley. When Christine’s 2 hectare field blossoms in November, it really is a little slice of paradise. The rest of the year, visitors can enjoy walking with Christine through her garden with its dense rosemary hedges and exotic fruit trees. Along the way, you’ll learn about the cultivation of saffron, various herbs and medicinal plants, and sustainability issues. Finally you can your feet in ice cold foot baths seasoned with herbs and petals. Afterwards, sip some tea while learning more about saffron and Christine’s farm. You’ll pick up some useful info like how to distinguish between real and fake saffron. You can also enjoy a beautiful lunch in the garden, but these saffron-infused vittles are very popular, so make reservations in advance! paradis-du-safran.com
