Obelisk Winery is a stunning new addition to the Lednice-Valtice landscape. The winery’s columned pavilion-style building was inspired by a Classical temple, but interpreted through a modern lens. Divided into two areas, the building’s ground floor includes the wine shop and tasting room, and provides stupendous views of the surrounding area, complemented by the artwork of Natalie Perkoff. Below ground, the wine is made in two areas, using gravity to stream wine without pumps or machinery. This is just one part of the winery’s ‘postmodern’ wine-making process where they pay close attention to the wine’s development while limiting anything unnatural that could impact into the character of the wine.
