The historic town of Tabor set on a picturesque South Bohemia hilltop is a popular tourist attraction due to its large amount of historical and natural treasures. The compact historic town center can be walked in just over an hour, so makes for an ideal stop-off point. The history of the town is strongly connected to the Hussite movement and its major role in European history and the Hussite Museum provides a fascinating insight into this period. Visitors can choose from a variety of attractions ranging from the town walls through to churches, monuments and a host of historic sites. More intrepid visitors may wish to explore the Tabor Tunnels that form an underground network running underneath the houses in the main square while those with a sweet tooth can while away the time in the Museum of Chocolate and Marzipan, which by all accounts, smells just as good as it looks.
