Gorreana is Europe's oldest tea plantation, established in 1883, and the only commercial tea producer in the Azores. The plantation uses traditional methods without pesticides, creating organic green and black teas in volcanic soil.
The journey takes approximately 30 minutes, traveling through Sao Miguel's scenic interior with views of crater lakes, volcanic landscapes, and traditional Azorean villages along the northern coastal route.
