明孟陵墓是为阮朝第二任皇帝明孟所建。皇帝在这里建立了40个建筑，包括宫殿、亭阁和庙宇，所有建筑沿着一条直线分布。通过三扇门的岱洪门（中央门仅在接纳皇帝遗体时打开）可以进入，装饰精美的建筑只是陵墓的一部分。作为坚定的儒家，明孟希望其陵墓成为一个公共公园，并通过园林景观、露台、湖泊和桥梁将陵墓的建筑相连。
