This lush botanical garden is home to tropical plants from around the world.
Else Kientzler Garden showcases over 2,000 varieties of tropical plants from around the world in eleven distinct gardens spanning a total of seven hectares. Named in honor of Else, one of the founders of the Kientzler family’s global floriculture business, the gardens are a family oriented attraction, with nearly 40% of the 2 kilometer trail system wheelchair accessible, and a large playground to keep the little ones entertained. The plants here are both native and exotic, coming from as far away as Madagascar and Japan, and range from rare orchids to endangered hardwoods. In the organic orchard, you find Malay apples, mangoes, blackberries, and more. You are free to explore the gardens on your own, or, if you’d like to learn more about the various plants than what’s on the signs, you can also make advance arrangements for a guided tour.
