Tallinn

The UNESCO-listed Old Town of Estonia’s vibrant capital is one of the best-preserved medieval cities in Europe.

About

The medieval city of Tallinn flourished for centuries thanks to its strategic position, leaving it filled with many lavish churches and refined merchant houses. In the heart of Tallinn’s UNESCO protected Old Town, visitors will find the beautiful Town Hall Square, dominated by its gorgeous Gothic Town Hall. Among the many historic buildings lining the square is Europe’s oldest continuously-operating pharmacy, which houses a museum dedicated to its 600 year history. Around half of the city’s medieval town wall and its towers have survived, allowing visitors the opportunity to stroll the ramparts or scale the towers for stupendous views of the city. Dominating the city us the medieval castle, which now houses the Estonian parliament, and two of its most opulent churches - St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral and the Cathedral of Saint Mary the Virgin.
