Experience three centuries of local history in this open-air museum where costumed interpreters bring the past to life.
The Village Historique Acadien is made up of over 40 buildings, built from 1773 to 1949, from every corner of New Brunswick. In each, interpreters in period dress bring local traditions to life, and are happy to answer any questions (they’re fluent in both French and English!). Learn how nails, shingles, and barrels were made, or meet characters of Acadian history. There are even experiences like an immersive day camp for kids, or cooking workshops so you can keep Acadian tradition alive at home. One of the buildings in the village is a replica of the turn-of-the-century Hôtel Château Albert, where you can sit down for a meal, or stay overnight if 3 hours isn’t enough time to soak in all the history.
