The Ambarawa Railway Museum boasts a collection of 21 steam locomotives, two of which were part of the original fleet used on the line over a century ago. The locomotives and accompanying exhibitions serve as a testament to the rich history of railway transportation in Ambarawa. The railway station was originally built to support the mobilization of troops for the Royal Netherlands East Indies Army in 1873, and a collection of telephones, bells and old furniture add to the nostalgic ambiance of the museum as it reveals intriguing stories about Java’s past adventures. You will have the opportunity to embark on an unforgettable adventure aboard a functioning steam locomotive, which offers scenic tours around the Ambarawa railway. The museum is open daily from 8AM to 5PM with an admission fee of RP 20,000
