Oman
Connected directly to the Sultanate, Oman’s most luxurious fragrance house is firmly rooted in local tradition.
Amouage Perfumery was founded in 1983 by Prince Sayyid Hamad bin Hamoud al bu Said after Qaboos Bin Said, the Sultan of Oman, ordered him to preserve Oman’s perfume-making traditions. Since then, the house has grown to become a world-wide luxury brand offering a variety of skincare products along with their signature scents. Amouage reflects its proud heritage in both its branding- the logo reminiscent of the royal seal of Oman, and some bottles shaped like the Omani dagger - and by using local essences like oudh, musk, frankincense and sandalwood, in its perfumes. In 2012, as part of its 30th anniversary, Amouage Perfumes opened its new factory and visitor center to help the company keep up with demand, and offer visitors a look into the manufacturing process. And of course, those of discerning smell can shop around the factory store. For more information, please visit amouage.com/visitors-centre
