Andromeda Botanic Gardens is a verdant paradise spanning 8 acres, boasting an impressive collection of over 500 plant species. Its diverse array of trees, gardens, and exceptional biodiversity, including the enchanting presence of monarch butterflies, makes it a treasure trove of natural beauty. Established by Iris Bannochie in 1954, Andromeda Botanic Gardens serves as both a pleasure and a research garden, embodying rare and exceptional qualities. Named after a Greek mythology princess, it thrives between the rugged Atlantic coast and lush greenery. The gardens encompass a rich tapestry of frangipani, bougainvillaea, fruit-bearing trees, shrubs, and even a succulent garden, showcasing over 90 plant families from across the globe. Visitors are greeted with a quaint wooden building enveloped by lush greenery, offering a cozy space filled with Barbadian craft, jewelry, snacks, and souvenirs. Embarking on a guided or self-guided tour, each step leads to a revelation of nature's diversity. A brochure serves as a companion, unraveling the history and wonders of the garden. The gardens are open 9:30AM to 4:30PM daily.
