Argentina
Find your way through this natural maze hidden in the Yungas.
Angosto de Jaire is a crack in a granite rock formation located close to the city of San Salvador de Jujuy in northwest Argentina. The path formed by the crack is no wider than 3 feet, covered in moss with walls so high one could hardly see the sky. To enter this mysterious natural maze, walk about 3 miles from the Jaire bridge, about a 45-minute drive from the city. Angosto de Jaire is ideal for adventuring: trekking, bird watching, and admiring the lush flora. But be careful to not disturb the local spirits: the legend says the maze is inhabited by Coquena, a divine creature that protects the animals inhabiting the area from the hunters.
