Founded in 1749, the Appleton Rum Estate has been a staple part of Jamaican history and culture. The world renowned rum has been claiming awards for over 150 years, and on a guided tour of the estate, you’ll learn about the drink’s local history, and how Appleton crafts their celebrated spirit. You’ll see both historic and current production processes, and visit their 200-year-old pot stills and one of the Estate’s barrel houses where the rums are aged to perfection. While the tour is relatively short, it’s widely considered one of the best in the world for the sensory accouterments - along the way, you’ll taste molasses and freshly squeezed sugar cane juice, and finish the tour with a sampling of their 13 kinds of rum! Needless to say, you’ll be thankful to have a designated driver. When you’re done, you can stock up on rum and rum goodies in the gift shop. Please note: the admission fee of $39 US per adult and $19.50 US per child under 17 is not included in the stop price.
