The fictional worlds of the beloved Swedish author Astrid Lindgren come to life through miniature villages and stage performances at this theme park in Vimmerby,
Astrid Lindgren’s World is a theme park brimming with the fantastical imagination of the Swedish author, covering her stories from “Pippi Longstocking: to “The Children of Noisy Village”. It initially opened in 1981 as a Fairytale Village and was later expanded, retaining the magical atmosphere that makes it a wonderland for children and adults alike. The park is divided into several themed areas, each of which is based on one of Lindgren's books. Explore a replica of the fictional village of Katthult from the book "Emil of Lönneberga," or visit the Pippi Longstocking area, which includes a replica of Pippi's famous Villa Villekulla. In the summer, events are always occurring around the grounds, whether on stage or improvised around the park. Participate in interactive theater performances, ride on carousels and rollercoasters, and meet and interact with costumed characters from Lindgren's stories. The park is open from 10AM to 6PM, from 17 May to 20 August and on weekends until 17 December, then from October to November. Tickets range from free entry for 0-2 year olds, to 465 SEK for adults.
