The Aukrust House, a remarkable architectural creation designed by Sverre Fehn, exhibits the works of an artist who has captivated the entire Norwegian population for decades with his unique stories, art, and humor. Completed in 1996, it showcases Aukrust’s drawings, paintings and captivating texts, allowing you to delve into his world of wit, madness and creativity. Inside the museum, enjoy Aukrust’s notable works such as the oil painting “The Three Cardinals” and his portrayals of natural landscapes and Madonnas. The House also exhibits original sets and figures from his various films, plus his well-known inventions such as the Chocolate Machine. Sit back in the museum’s cinema and enjoy one of his films, or engage in nostalgic games in the expansive garden, with an enchanting flower maze buzzing with bumblebees.
