Inspired by 17th century gardens of the Dutch East India Company, every single species grown here is edible.
The 8-acre Babylonstoren Garden is a modern reimagining of the company gardens used by the Dutch East India company to restock ships with water, fruit, and vegetables on their journey between Europe and Asia. This formal garden is divided into 15 distinct areas, from vegetables to berries, and watered by the same gravity-fed irrigation system used 300 years ago. After wandering through the greenery, you can visit one of the on-site restaurants to enjoy seasonal specialties using the garden’s fruit and vegetables, and wine from Babylonstoren’s vineyards.
