Argentina
Tune in to the rhythm of nature in this charming provincial town and pay tributes to Argentine’s greatest Formula 1 racer.
Balcarce offers a quaint small-town feel despite having over 40 thousand inhabitants. Its mountain ranges, lagoons, valleys, and creeks are a pleasure to the eyes – you won’t get enough of this town’s beautiful scenery. If you have a few free hours on your hands, try skydiving, paragliding, mountain biking, or fishing. Besides outdoor activities, Balcarce is known for The Juan Manuel Fangio Car Racing Museum, or in short Fangio Museum. It is dedicated to Juan Manuel Fangio, the most successful Argentinian racer and Balcarce’s pride. The museum summarizes the history of car racing and Fangio’s career through a display of 50 racing cars from different epochs, and, additionally, trophies, documents, and other memorabilia related to each epoch. The museum is open every day except Tuesday, and the average cost of entrance fee is 13 USD. Besides the museum, other attractions include Cerro El Triunfo Municipal Park, and the San Jose Church, both located in the city center.
