The Barbados National Botanical Gardens will welcome you with a striking entrance adorned with the national flower, the yellow and orange Pride of Barbados shrubs. Within the gardens, a mesmerizing ballet of butterflies dance, and a harmonious blend of colors unfolds as Allamanda flowers intermingle with the vivid Crown of Thorns, multi-hued crotons harmonize with the radiant red Ixora blooms, and the graceful plumbago dances alongside periwinkles. Encompassing a vast expanse of more than 250 acres, much of which remains as open space, the gardens offer a serene setting for contemplation, discovery, and recreation. Notably, this botanical haven extends beyond showcasing Barbados' indigenous flora; it also boasts an international character, with plants and trees planted by dignitaries from various corners of the world, including Argentina, Suriname, Kenya, and Ghana. The gardens are opened daily, and accessible free of charge.
