Welcome to Barwon Heads, a sleepy town in coastal Victoria with a more gentle pace of life than it’s neighbors. The perfect place to relax, unwind and get lost in the calming nature of the crashing waves along this spectacular strip of white-sand coastline, or enjoy the delicious food and drinks on offer in one of the town's many eateries. The Barwon Bluff Marine Sanctuary protects around 17 hectares of reef and sea life. It contains a stunning beach that is ideal to walk for fantastic views of the entire sanctuary, or dip your toes in the cool water. In typical coastal Australia fashion, Barwon Heads is somewhat a surfer’s paradise, with Thirteenth Beach taking the prize for the best surf breaks. River beaches are also popular here and the foreshore at the mouth of the Barwon River is a top spot to take a dip, or even try your hand at fishing.
