This museum and memorial brings the infamous Battle of the Bulge to life through artefacts and captivating audio-visual installations.
In December 1944, the Germans launched what would be their last Western offensive through the densely forested Ardennes region, catching the American forces stationed there by surprise. Over the next month, the Americans would fight their largest and bloodiest battle of World War II. The Bastogne War Museum brings this decisive engagement to life. Here visitors will find uniforms and small arms used by both sides, as well as jeeps, tanks, and artillery, but these serve as illustrations for the museum’s primary medium: written history. Overlooking the museum is the massive Mardasson Memorial, a star-shaped monument commemorating the many Americans who fought and died here.
