About
The Binh Thuy Ancient House was built in 1870 by the Duong family, and has remained in their possession ever since. Today, Duong Minh Hien, the sixth generation of the Duong family invites visitors into the home to experience the beautiful marriage of traditional Mekong and Western art and architecture. Beneath the house is a 10 cm thick layer of salt to keep termites away from the precious woodwork. After admiring the colorful facade, visitors can explore rooms showcasing beautiful plantation-style fixtures, colorful tiles, and intricate carvings. It’s not uncommon for a member of the Duong family to be home to show visitors around.
