This charming manor provides visitors with plenty of ways to unwind, from its lavish rooms, relaxing spa, or peaceful park.
Built in 1860 for Baltic-German baron August von Pistohlkors, Birini Castle’s ornate neo-Gothic facade was simplified in the early 20th century when it was transformed into a health resort. It’s since been restored, and now combines noble history with an upscale getaway. Visitors can tour the neo-Renaissance interior to learn about the castle’s history, and admire the fine furnishings, such as the intricately carved staircase, tile stoves. The castle’s past as a resort has also been preserved as visitors can enjoy a relaxing soak in the baths. The sprawling park surrounding the castle provides a peaceful walk, and in the watermill near the lake, visitors will find an ethnographic museum, as well as a pub in the summer.
