Take a short walk to this stunning and picturesque bridge that swings over bright blue glacial waters
The South Island’s Blue Pools are a popular attraction that originates where the Blue River connects to the Makarora River, exhibiting bright blue glacial waters. The track is a short and beautiful walk on a bridge over the stunning gorge, where you can look down and view the large trout while being serenaded by the sounds of the yellowhead (mohua) bird chirping in the canopy. On your way to the bridge, you walk through massive mature beech and podocarp trees, which opens up to the magnificent, crystal-clear reservoir.
