Bregenz

Nestled on the shores of Lake Constance, Bregenz has been settled since 1500 BC. Over the centuries, the city grew in importance, becoming the regional capital in the 18th century. At the heart of the medieval town center, the Baroque St. Martin’s Tower lets visitors admire 14th century frescoes and views across the lake into Germany and Switzerland all in one place. For another all-encompassing cultural experience, the Vorarlberg Museum exhibits regional artefacts dating back to prehistoric times, and art installations. During the summer, the internationally renowned hosts a world famous summer music festival and dance festival. Though no matter the time of year, visitors can always admire the scenery, and the world’s largest floating stage, which was featured in the James Bond film ‘Quantum of Solace’.
