Bundaberg Rum Distillery was founded when seven Queenslanders decided to dive into the burgeoning sugar industry in 1888 to create a better tasting rum. What started as 25,000 gallons of rum for the first batch has blossomed into four Olympic swimming pools of molasses a year plus a healthy mix of yeast and water. Growing sugar cane in the rich volcanic soil gives Bundaberg rum its distinct taste.
