Spain
Famous for it's giant tomato-throwing festival every August, the city's rich history and culture is up for grabs year-round.
The small Valencian town of Buñol lies along the Buñol River and is surrounded mountains, blessing it with beautiful nature, and many urban parks and gardens. Visitors can roam the city's 13th-century castle, which has been incorporated into the village, with houses being built against it. The El Salvador Church, houses the town’s Archaeological Museum. It may be, however, one day a year that puts this town in the forefront of many people’s minds, but rather its famous La Tomatina on the last Wednesday in August, when tens of thousands flock to the streets to engage in an all-out war featuring just one weapon: tomatoes.
