United Arab Emirates
The world’s tallest building is an amazing feet of engineering that will transport you above the clouds.
At 828 meters, the Burj Khalifa is a gleaming spire reaching from the desert to the heavens. 22 million man hours, and a record-breaking 330,000 cubic metres of concrete, 39,000 tonnes of steel, 103,000 square metres of glass, and 15,500 square metres of embossed stainless steel were required to make this modern marvel. There’s plenty to keep you occupied at the base of the tower including the massive Dubai Mall, and choreographed displays of the Dubai Fountain, but for the main attraction, turn your eyes skyward. Observation decks on the 124th, 125th, and 148th floors (the highest in the world) offer a view unlike anywhere else in the world. If you really want to savour the view, you can visit the At.mosphere restaurant and lounge on the 122nd floor for fine dining with a view to die for.
