The Butambala Heritage Centre of Civilization is the home of the Akasimba clan, who serve as the official ironsmiths of the Buganda King. More than just an exhibit of their work, here you can see the blacksmiths in action, as they take you through the process of heating and shaping the iron into farming tools, utensils, and most prominently: the ceremonial spears used when the heir of a family takes over from their deceased father
