Botswana
Visitors can get up close and personal with Botswana’s wildlife in the name of conservation and education.
The Caracal Biodiversity Centre is first and foremost a conservation center, rehabilitating and releasing animals that have been orphaned or injured. Those that can’t be released into the wild are given a safe home where they serve as ambassadors, educating the public about the nation’s wildlife. Here you’ll find small mammals, raptors, owls, and plenty of reptiles, including Botswana’s largest collection of endemic snakes. The Caracal Biodiversity Centre encourages visitors to interact with many of these animals for a tactile learning experience, meaning you’ll be able to pet an aardvark, feed a bush baby, and handle some snakes.
