A peaceful place to relax, the park’s squirrel’s a famous for eating right out of your hand!
Since the 19th century, Vatra Dornie has been known as a spa and resort town, particularly during winter when skiers from all over the country hit the slopes. However, for short stays the town offers a particularly unique park. Lined with historic buildings, such as the abandoned casino, and even a cathedral, visitor can enjoy a peaceful place to relax. For nature lovers, the main attraction - even more than the source of the town’s spring water - are the park’s well acclimated squirrels, all of which are named Mariana. Nearby vendors sell bags of nuts, that when tapped together, summon Mariana, who will often times eat right out of your hand!
