Said to be formed by ascending magma and shifting volcanic activity, these igneous rock formations can only be found in 3 sites world wide. The octagonal shape of these rocks give the impression of large red honeycombs jutting straight out from the earth. Designated as a national landmark in 2009, the area offers sweeping views of the nearby forest and quaint towns, along with brisk and mildly challenging hikes. This natural wonder is one of Paraguay’s most visited sites, with tourists from around the world coming to experience this truly rare geological formation.
