The medieval church is a true symbol of tolerance, holding both Orthodox and Catholic service.
Built in the 14th century, this small stone church stands out in that it has two altars. During the civil war in the 1990, the Catholic altar was thrown out, mostly motivated by the fact that the altar was installed during the Austro-Hungarian occupation. The community, however, convinced the church had held joint services for centuries. In 1995, they finally managed to convince the government to reinstall the Catholic altar, a true demonstration of the community’s religious tolerance, and friendly relations. A massive congregation center during holidays, the grounds offer a place of respite year round, with great views of the surrounding countryside, including the nearby castle.
