Jamaica
Sample the delicious Blue Mountain coffee grown at one of Jamaica's best-preserved historic homes.
Craighton Estate was built around 1805 by Scottish coffee grower George Craighton. Since then, this mountain manor has been renovated and expanded several times, but it never lost its historic character. Today, it’s owned by Ueshima, Japan’s largest coffee company, who have preserved it as a house museum and renowned coffee plantation. Walking through the house, you’ll find a collection of antique furniture and heritage art on display, while a guided tour serves up the history of coffee production in Jamaica, topped off with a coffee-tasting session in a lush jungle setting. Of course, this is a great chance to get a bag or two of the renowned beans, which sell in Japan for $300 a pound!
