Snorkel among tropical fish in this prehistoric sinkhole.
Set just inland in the Bay of Pigs, the Cueva de los Peces (Cave of the Fish) isn’t quite a cave. It is in fact a collapsed cave that’s filled with water - better known as a cenote. What makes the Cueva de los Peces unique is that it’s filled with sea water, becoming home to tropical fish and colorful coral. Along with taking a refreshing dip, you can also snorkel with gear rented from the souvenir shop (5CUC). If the cenote is too small for your snorkeling ambitions, across the street is a beach with an even bigger reef! While you’re here, keep your eyes on the trees as well - colorful birds can often be spotted.
