In the town where the sugar cube was invented, this stately mansion tells the story of a noble family through their possessions.
In 1591 Oldřich Krajíř of Krajek built Dacice Chateau in the elegant style of the North Italian Renaissance. Due to changing architectural trends, and a few fires, the chateau received several renovations over the years, culminating in the robin’s egg blue, neo-classicist and Baroque façade seen today. A guided tour brings visitors through stately rooms adorned with period furniture and objets d’art collected by the Dalberg family over 4 generations, including an amazing library with 24,000 volumes.
