Dhal Al Misfir

Explore the cavernous depths and unique geological features of this extraordinary cave in the Rawdat Rashid area of Qatar.

About

Dahl Al Misfir is considered the largest and deepest accessible cave in Qatar, with depths ranging from 40 to 100 meters. The cave occasionally emits a faint, ethereal glow, due to the fibrous gypsum crystals within the cave. This has also contributed to the formation of fascinating gypsum crystal clusters known as “desert roses”, making for a spectacular geological display. As you venture deeper into the cave, the darkness intensifies, requiring the use of lights for those who wish to explore further. Birdwatchers visiting Dahl Al Misfir may have the opportunity to spot various avian species including nightjars, wagtails, bee-eaters, Eurasian hoopoes and others on their migration route through Qatar to Africa. Marvel at the natural wonders that have formed over hundreds of thousands of years amidst the glowing crystals and striking rock formations of Dahl Al Misfir.
