Perched on a lonely rock in the middle of the river, this tiny cabin has drawn visitors to the surrounding national park for years.
A tiny wooden cabin perched on the top of a huge rock sits in the middle of the Drina River, having survived over 50 years of rising flood waters. The little house was carefully constructed on the rocky outcrop by someone who used to swim and tan at the spot in their youth. All of the materials for the cabin’s construction had to be toted out to the rock by rowboat, and it is still only accessible by boat. The one-room home is used as a remote vacation escape for the owner, but its surrounding landscape receives many visitors each year thanks to its Instagram-worthy scenery. The cabin itself was once featured in National Geographic, skyrocketing it into fame. The Tara National Park that surrounds the house is an incredible mountainous area known for its iconic limestone cliffs and thick forests, perfect for hiking.
