Jamaica
This James Bond-approved waterfall should be on your bucket list.
Jamaicans consider Dunn’s River Falls to be a national treasure. This stunning waterfall really is unique - it is one one of the few waterfalls worldwide that empties directly into the sea. The waterfall can even be spotted in a James Bond film! Standing at 180 high and 600 feet long, Dunn’s River Falls are basically a giant staircase with several lagoons, surrounded by the picture-perfect flora. It is possible to climb the waterfall by either hiking all the way to the top, or use the stairs alongside; the hike can take anywhere from half an hour to an hour and a half. If you do decide to hike, make sure to bring water shoes - it can get quite slippery. But if chasing waterfalls is not your thing, there is still plenty to do: the location includes a beautiful sandy beach, a tropical garden with a water park for children, a craft market with souvenirs, and a cafeteria to satisfy jerk chicken cravings. An entrance ticket to the waterfalls for non-Jamaican residents costs 25 USD for adults, and 17 USD for children under 12. To avoid crowds, try scheduling a visit on a weekday morning or before closing.
