Unlike its American counterpart, El Gran Canon in Ecuador is a spectacular for its lushness rather than scale. The centerpiece of this privately owned paradise is a cave that has a 10-meter-high waterfall pouring into it. To reach it, you first get to enjoy a pleasant walk through the verdant Amazon jungle, along a bright-blue river and across picturesque rope bridges. The more adventurous can also opt to hire a local guide to take the more rugged path, which will have you scrambling over rocks with the aid of ropes. Regardless of how you choose to enter the park, the pool in the middle of the jungle is a serene place to relax, or if you still need more adrenaline, cliff jump.
