Bask in the rugged beauty surrounding one of the tallest waterfalls in the Eastern US.
Fall Creek Falls State Park encompasses 26,000-acres of rocky plateau known for its forested landscape crossed with streams and gorges, and dotted with waterfalls. The main show is Fall Creek Falls, which plunges 256 feet off a sheer rock face. Fortunately, you don’t have to tramp through the wilderness to find the falls - it’s just a short walk from the parking lot to the plunge pool at the base of the gorge. Along with Fall Creek Falls, there’s several other cascades in the park, including some smaller ones where you can swim. Then there are the many overlooks where you can stop to take in sweeping vistas of the Tennessee Hills.
