Three hundred years of military history is on show at Forchtenstein. The rich interior of the Baroque chapel is one of the most beautiful in Austria, making it no surprise that this splendid castle is a popular venue for weddings due to the stylish atmosphere and impressive backdrop for photos. The castle also has a little-known secret in that along with the military weapons, Byzantine and Habsburg treasures, such as the tent of a Turkish sultan and valuable clocks were hidden away, deep inside the castle, safe behind secret passages and secure locks. The collections even survived the occupation after the Second World War undetected.
