Formed over millennia, this cave is swirling with color and ornamentation.
The Gadime Marble Cave was accidentally discovered in 1969 when a local family was laying the foundation for their new house. Since then around 1500 meters have been explored, about half of which is open to visitors. On the guided tour, visitors will see beautiful cave ornamentation in colors ranging from aragonite white to rich red crystals, and everything in between. Along with its namesake marbled coloring, the cave is also known for its unusual stalagmites, many reaching 5 meters in height, which are covered with spikes. The cave is a brisk 8 to 13 C, so warm clothing is recommended. The cave is open everyday from 8:30 AM to 3:30PM with a lunch break between 12:00 and 1:00.
