A decorated long church constructed in 1882 stands as a significant architectural and cultural landmark in Viken county.
Gol Kirke stands as a place of worship, architectural beauty and historical preservation in Gol municipality. Its captivating altarpiece, baptismal angel and distinct lighting elements make for a rich spiritual and cultural experience. A copy of the painting “Jesu oppstandelse” by Adolp Tiedemand adorns the altarpiece, depicting Christ adorned with a halo rising triumphantly from the tomb. A baptismal angel, dating back to the late 1700’s, was transferred from the stave church to the new Gol Kirke during its dedication in 1882 and features a laurel wreath, adding a touch of elegance to the church. See the distinctive light globe, crafted by Birger Brenn in 1993, positioned at the right side at the bottom of the church, lighting up the interior along with the central Christ candle. Relish in the austere atmosphere of the historical building right in the heart of Viken county.
