Goms suspension bridge

Walk almost 100 meters above the Rhone to reach the award-winning mountain village of Ernen.

About

While the path through the Lammaschlucht gorge and over the Rhone has been popular for centuries, it was difficult to maintain and frequently suffered from landslides. In 2015, the Goms Suspension Bridge opened to solve that issue. Stretching for 280 meters, and reaching a height of 92, walkers pass wooden water conduits before reaching the scenic village of Ernen. Here, visitors can marvel at the gallows, or the Tell frescoes dating from 1578) can be seen in the square of this award-winning village.
