Iceland
This scalable crater is a picturesque reminder of Iceland’s explosive past.
Grabrok Crater formed following a fissure eruption about 3000 years ago, which also created two nearby sister craters. A well-maintained path leads up to the top of the crater, bringing visitors over the moss-covered volcanic rock. From the summit, you’re treated to a panoramic view of the Western Borgarfjörður Region, with the charming lake Hreðarvatn and conical Baula mountain visible in the distance.
