Granite Skywalk

The walkway atop this ancient rock formation offers panoramic views of Porongurup National Park.

About

The journey up to Granite Skywalk is not for the faint of heart...or arm...or leg. There is a 2.2 kilometer hike up to the first viewing platform, followed by a bit of rock and ladder climbing to the highest view point, meaning this attraction requires moderate physical exertion. However, few would doubt the worth of such a trek. The skywalk itself is a feat of engineering, a railed platform built into the side of ancient Castle Rock (and by ancient, we’re talking hundreds of millions of years, possibly the oldest formation of its kind in the world). Once at the top, it’s possible to see most of Porongurup National Park stretched out below, including the city of Albany to the South, and the nearby mountain ranges of Mount Gardner and Mount Manypeaks. Take pictures, but don’t forget to marvel at the views with your own eyes!
