Grimeton Radio Station

The most important telecommunication link between Sweden and the world during WWII has been preserved as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and offers exciting tours and an escape room.

About

The Grimeton Radio Station transmitted vital Morse code to North America and other countries from the 1920s to 1940s and remains an incredibly well-preserved monument representing early wireless communication. The UNESCO site, with its neoclassical buildings and impressive antenna towers, houses the Alexanderson alternator - the only remaining example of an early pre-electronic radio transmitter. Step into a world of code and reconnaissance with an entrance ticket to the Transmitter Hall and Exhibition, where you can interpret Morse code signals for yourself. A guided tour is highly recommended, in which you can climb the original ladder of the antenna tower and join the kestrels circling in the wind, or even participate in an Escape Room to solve a series of puzzles that will ‘save Sweden’. The Grimeton Radio Station is open Saturdays 10AM to 3PM, or you can purchase a self-check-in ticket to visit outside of opening hours.
