Gunnebo House

This beautiful estate and its sprawling gardens welcome visitors to enjoy a taste of the 18th century - or a fresh cooked meal.

About

In the 18th century, John Hall, one of the wealthiest men in Gothenburg, had the nea-Classical Gunnebo House built for his family, and surrounded it with a finely manicured park. John died shortly after the project was completed, and the Hall family lost the estate following the death of his heirless son. After passing between several private owners, the Gunnebo House was purchased by the town of Mölndal in 1968, restored to its original 18th century splendor, and made into a museum. A guided tour brings visitors through one of Scandinavia's most complete 18th century estates, showcasing the art, architecture, and the rise and fall of the Hall family. Be sure to make time for a snack or lunch from the estate’s award-winning restaurant, which uses produce from the organic garden.
