This beautiful Gothic church’s 17th century organ is still used regularly for concerts.
Haderslev Cathedral was originally built in the 13th century on the foundations of an even older wooden church. Of this, only the original transept remains, but the early 15th century is one of the most beautiful from the Gothic period, and its 16 meter tall windows are the largest in the country. Throughout the cathedral, you’ll find treasures spanning the centuries, be it 15th century bronze baptismal fonts, an ornate Baroque pulpit from 1636, or vestements designed by Queen Margrethe II. However, the church’s most treasured possession is the recently restored Sieseby organ, which is the centerpiece of its rich musical program.
