Ha'il, the capital and largest city of Ha'il Province, is located in the northern part of Saudi Arabia. In ancient times, the city was a well-known stop on caravan routes, catering to pilgrims, and it still maintains a reputation for its friendly locals. Ha'il's landmarks include its three castles. The A'arif Fort, a 200-year-old mud castle perched on a hill, overlooks the city and offers a stunning viewpoint. The Barzan Palace, a grand 19th-century structure, is famous for its magnificence. Lastly, the third and youngest castle, the Qishlah Fortress, was constructed in the city center during the 1940s when Prince Abdul-Aziz bin Musa'ad Al Saud held office in Ha'il Province. Other attractions include the Al Rajhi Mosque, renowned for its lush interior. Nowadays, the city is an agricultural hub famous for the production of dates and other fruits, so make sure to stop by one of the local markets to savor some.
